A woman from San Francisco (USA) who decided to take a Waymo self-driving taxi during a storm was left quite confused when the vehicle ended up in the middle of flooding.
JoJo posted a video on her TikTok profile showing that she was in the middle of floodwaters while the driverless car tried to maneuver its way out of the situation. “I think Waymo still has some work to do,” she reflected in the text overlaid on the clip.
She said she ended up in the flooded area after the Waymo car drove to the location. Despite the scare, it appears the vehicle managed to handle the situation. “It still got me to my destination safely, at least,” JoJo added.
JoJo’s video has already racked up more than 1.4 million views and thousands of comments from internet users who were stunned by the scene. “People who use Waymo are genuinely test subjects,” one TikTok user commented.
“You could never pay me to ride in a Waymo,” said another. “I would literally have a panic attack,” shared a third user. “You’re way too calm — I’d be panicking trying to grab the steering wheel,” joked another.
